I'm a third year dental student at New York University College of Dentistry, residing in Manhattan. After studying Electrical Engineering at University of California, I conducted research in neuroscience for a few years before obtaining a masters degree in Biomedical Sciences from Tufts University School of Medicine.

I have always been passionate about basic sciences and have enjoyed working with teenagers and young adults. I started tutoring my classmates when I was in middle school and only in college I realized it would be a pleasant break from and a great source of income in my hectic student life.

In my spare time, I enjoy trekking, rock climbing, backpacking, yoga, cooking from scratch, and traveling. I spent one year traveling through Latin America before starting dental school.

I am fluent in English, Farsi and Spanish.

Even after more than fifteen years of tutoring, I never wanted to become a teacher. To me, one of the most valuable aspects of my job is the one-on-one relationship I have with my students. This relationship gives me the flexibility of tailoring my approach based on needs and personalities of my students. With some I am very soft, with others more serious. With some I become friends to be able to most effectively teach them, with others I keep the distance to be more efficient. I approach each individual differently as I value the differences. I help my students not only to master the class material, but also to understand the foundational concepts, and grow to become independent learners. I aim to build their confidence and skills, and help them truly enjoy math and science the way I did when I was growing up.
